The Birim South District Environmental Health Unit conducts its annual medical screening exercise for all food vendors and handlers within the District. The One Month exercise which commenced in the first week of August 2026 has received significant turn out by people all around the various communities of which the team visited from Akortekrom, Adinkrom, Achiase Hene Akura, Apoli, Awisa, Atuntumirem, Adiembra, Suame Market, Swedru Main Market, Coppon, Swedru Zongo etc. The Health Screening exercise for the Food Vendors is an annual programme conducted and supervised by the District Environmental Health Unit to ascertain the health status of individuals who sells and handles food and drinks, and to issue certificate upon successful health medical screening report which is valid for 1 Year.
